This month the featured articles include...
1. Education in the Philippines, including primary, secondary, and college level. The kids study long and hard, starting at 7:30 AM all the way through 7:00 PM when they finish their tutor sessions. That's not counting the household chores they do daily. You'll read about the availability of private schools and how many are fortunate enough to attend them. They begin teaching the quality Philippines values in primary school in a class called Makabayan. See the differences in the grading system for high school and college compared to America.
2. Valentines Day, the way they understand it by Rhea, and how they celebrate it by me. The Filipinos are a very romantic culture. There is even a kissing contest held every year to see which country has the most couples kissing at the same time, and the Philippines is used to winning that contest! Lots of photos here!
3. Philippines customs and cultures, written mostly by Rhea but I couldn't help put in my opinion! We talk about the Philippines hospitality and how the most humble home will share whatever they have with their visitors. Also Philippine family traditions, how foreigners are welcomed, occupations, Filipino respect, hand and facial gestures (did you ever see someone point with their lips?), and lots of pics too!
